Paul George and Team USA officially tip off their gold medal quest on Saturday evening when they play China in their first pool play game at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The game tips off at 6 p.m. ET and will be televised on NBC Sports Network. NBC will also stream the game live online.
The USA squad will have to look internally for motivation after easily handling China in two exhibition games prior to heading to Rio. The gold medal should provide that motivation.
For Paul George, this will be his first game action since sitting out the second half against China on July 26th with a strained left calf. Concerns about PG missing games were minimized with the focus on being ready for play in Rio.
Now that Team USA is in Rio, it will be nice to see PG back on the court. It was also nice seeing him enjoy the opening ceremonies with the full U.S. Olympic team.
