Now the Pacers signing of Jeremy Evans makes a little more sense.
The dynamic, though lightly-used forward signed this summer appeared to just fill a roster spot with an adult pro who can also dunk like crazy.
But after the NBPA released the results of their “Teammate of the Year” award for each team, we find out Evans will be available to fill the role of favorite teammate vacated after Ian Mahinmi signed with Washington.
The results for each TOY were calculated by an anonymous vote by each player on the roster. Oh, wouldn’t it be fun to get the full results of those ballots.
No surprise that Mahinmi won the award for the Pacers considering he seemed to be the same affable, hard-working teammate despite taking on a much larger role in the rotation last season.
The NBPA league-wide awards were announced earlier on Thursday with Paul George earning Comeback Player of the Year.
