Olympics Game Thread: USA vs. Argentina in Quarterfinal matchup

Tournament play begins in Rio as Paul George and Team USA face a tough road to the gold medal starting with Argentina on Wednesday.

Team USA emerged from Olympics Men’s Basketball pool play as the only unbeaten team, but their struggles to get past Australia, Serbia and France in their last three games makes the tournament portion of the quest for gold quite intriguing.

The quarterfinal matchup between USA and Argentina tips at 5:45 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Channel and will also be live streamed on

Paul George and friends can’t look past Argentina with veteran international stars, Luis Scola and Manu Ginobili. Now that it is do-or-die time the USA squad needs their stars to start shining in Rio. After two full days off to practice and prep for the Argentine challenge, Team USA should be primed for an impressive effort.
