The Pacers finish up "regular season" play in the Orlando Pro Summer League against the OKC Thunder on Wednesday.
Surely a few eyebrows were raised among the players earlier in the day when reports broke about the Pacers acquiring Jeremy Evans from the Dallas Mavericks. In particular, Shayne Whittington should be on point today since he is a fellow big man whose contract is not guaranteed with the Pacers.
Along with Whittington, Joe Young, Glenn Robinson III, Rakeem Christmas and Georges Niang are trying to make a solid impression with their play in Orlando. GRobIII has been the most consistent performer but all have shown some good and bad for the Summer P's.
On Wednesday, the Thunder will try to improve their 2-1 record while being led by Cameron Payne and Mitch McGary.
The Pacers are 1-2 so the outcome today will set their "Championship Day" seeding record for Friday when the top two records face off along with 3 v. 4, 5 vs. 6, 7 vs. 8 and 9 vs. 10.
The game tips at 5 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBA TV and online on ESPN3.
