The Pacers have struggled with their front court matchup against the Raptors in part due to center Ian Mahinmi's foul trouble and troubling lower back soreness.
Mahinim sat out practice on Wednesday but did express his intent to give it a go in Game 3. Monta Ellis also missed practice due to a personal issue that arose, but Frank Vogel indicated Monta will be available on Thursday. At this point in the season, some additional rest for Ellis is probably more valuable than practice.
Regardless of Mahinmi's status at game time, Vogel did indicate he may shake up his playing rotation as the team tries to counter the big impact Jonas Valanciunas is having for Toronto.
"We'll see tomorrow night," Vogel said. "Certainly we're pondering changes, yes."
Will the Pacers go small, possibly starting Solomon Hill and moving Lavoy Allen back to a reserve role? Will they try to counter with Jordan Hill to get more offense? These questions depend greatly on how much and how well Mahinmi can play which we will all learn tonight at tip time.
