The Pacers, playing of late with no intent on making of crusing into the post-season, face a challenge at home to remain on Sunday evening when they host James Harden and the Houston Rockets.
Both teams are in a similar state, lingering around the edges of playoff spots in their respective conferences although struggling to gain much positive momentum with the end of the regular season closing in.
The Rockets beat the Raptors in their last game to halt a three-game losing streak which had them outside the playoffs in the West. The win bumped them up to seventh, just like the Pacers in the East.
The Pacers keep stepping to the edge and then step up to win and remain in playoff position. A loss tonight won't knock the Pacers out of the top eight spots but it would bump them down to eighth, a half game below the idle Pistons.
