The Pacers drag their three-game losing streak to Milwaukee for their third matchup of the season against the Bucks. After a solid effort fell short in Cleveland and a back-to-back at Charlotte and Washington waiting to begin on Friday, stopping the slide tonight in Milwaukee would seem critical for the Pacers.
Scoring wasn't a problem in the prior two meetings but the results were wildly mixed in the games at the Fieldhouse. In November, the Pacers throttled the Bucks 123-85 with 20-point games from Paul George and C.J. Miles. But on New Year's Eve, the Bucks put a damper on festivities by beating the Pacers 120-116 with 33 points from Khris Middleton. The score indicates a tight game, but the Pacers needed a 39-point fourth quarter to get back in the game late although never getting any closer than three points.
Now two months later, both teams are playing differently once again with the Bucks utilizing Greg Monroe off the bench and enjoying a more versatile starting lineup with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker creating mismatches. The Pacers have struggled with less-traditional lineups so the Parker/Myles Turner matchup will be key to the end result. That is assuming Paul George can at worst neutralize a matchup with the Greek Freak.
C.J. Miles remains out for the Pacers while Michael Carter-Williams (knee) is questionable to play for the Bucks.
