Pacers Injury Update: Ian Mahinmi Returns To Lineup Vs Pistons

Center Ian Mahinmi will make his return tonight as the Pacers take on the Detroit Pistons. Mahinmi had previously been out of action for the past four games due to a lower-back injury.

Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel announced earlier in the afternoon that center Ian Mahinmi will be returning from injury tonight against the Pistons and that the team will integrate Mahinmi into the starting lineup alongside rookie Myles Turner.

The return of Mahinmi into the starting lineup at the five-spot tonight indicates that the team will move Turner to the power-forward position rather than having Turner play center.

With Tunrer and Mahinmi playing the four and five spots respectively, the Pacers will be going with their big lineup tonight, which may bode particularly well against one of the most dominant centers in the league this season that is Andre Drummond.

The Pacers are 2-1 this season against the division rival Pistons and will need to secure a victory tonight if they wish to remain in the playoff hunt. Indiana (26-24) is currently one game behind Detroit for the seventh-seed in the Eastern Conference.
