Charlotte has proven to be a challenging matchup for the Pacers but 20-plus points better? Nah, the Pacers have to own that poor effort and will obviously need to ramp things up this time around.
Following practice yesterday, Frank Vogel, Myles Turner, Paul George and Rodney Stuckey all spoke about recent wins and the challenge against Charlotte.
Yes, Rodney Stuckey spoke after taking part in practice as the reserve guard appears closer to returning. The Pacers still have him listed as out for Friday and Stuck himself mentioned he needs to improve his game shape after five weeks off so any return will be gradual. Fortunately, Stuckey doesn't need heavy minutes to make an impact.
As for the Hornets, Vogel expressed concern because the Hornets are playing at a high level which means the Pacers will have to match that high level of play. Vogel is still pushing his team to improve their effort to close out games after winning three of their last four tight games. Charlotte arrives in Indy after losing to Cleveland on Wednesday to snap what was a five-game winning streak.
This game sets up as a great test for the Pacers at home to see if they can raise and maintain their level of play, not to mention keep Charlotte chasing them in the standings.
