The Pacers host a Philadelphia 76ers team on Wednesday still searching for their first win of the season while playing short-handed.
While starting the season without Ben Simmons (foot) and Nerlens Noel (knee), the Sixers will come to Indy without Joel Embiid as they monitor his early-season minutes.
Embiid’s absence should certainly help the Pacers since he has been playing well during what is finally his rookie season for Philly. His spot will be filled by yet another young big man in Jahlil Okafor who may eventually be the odd man out in Philly and used to fetch more backcourt support. But against the Pacers, he will be the man in the middle for the Sixers, where we learn he has struggled to adapt to the NBA game.
The Pacers remain without Rodney Stuckey, but so far there have been no reports of lineup or rotation changes despite the wildly inconsistent play over the past few games.
