The Pacers pick themselves up off the mat and return to action against the Hawks on Wednesday night after getting swatted to the ground by the Warriors.

Hopeful health news should improve the Pacers’ chances of beating the Hawks who have traditionally been a combatant for Eastern Conference playoff real estate. This year, the Pacers are trailing behind as the new-look Hawks have moved their way just behind the Cavs in the East.

Jeff Teague will have his first opportunity to face his former team, assuming the ankle issues which ended his night early on Monday, don’t worsen and keep him sidelined.

The Hawks front court is formidable with Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap. Howard has been a double-double machine, not just averaging a double-double (14.7 ppg, 13.3 rpg) but he’s logged a double-double in 10 of the 12 games he’s played in. Meanwhile, Millsap leads the team in scoring adding 17.9 ppg and 7.9 rpg.

The Pacers’ rebounding issues could become a major issue in this one. Of course, that is if injuries allow the team to shore up other areas of concern with key players. Paul George and Myles Turner have been questionable while C.J. Miles is doubtful to play. Jeff Teague was off the injury report by Tuesday afternoon, so there is hope that the Pacers will fortify their playing rotation to battle the Hawks.
