The Pacers added two nasty L’s to the loss column over the weekend. To make matters worse, Paul George missed the loss to Boston on Saturday night against the also short-handed Celtics.
PG was hopeful he would return to action tonight against the Magic which will have a little extra juice with Frank Vogel returning for regular-season action. The Pacers catch the Magic after an impressive, hard-fought win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City on Sunday night. Serge Ibaka made his return to OKC and hung a career high on his former team including the game-winner.
No doubt Vogel’s team will want to give him a similar return experience while in Indy. Maybe that emotion will spark something in the Pacers who have appeared flat-lined far too often lacking any fire let alone the ol’ swagger they used to promote in better times.
Where or from whom will this time find a spark. Three home games this week should help, but they have to give a winning effort to take advantage.
