After another perplexing effort and loss on the road, the Pacers probably don’t mind playing a back-to-back game at home. They will need to pick up their play against the Celtics with Brad Stevens coaching back home, again.
The C’s have been struggling, as well without Al Horford (concussion) and Jae Crowder (ankle). But on Friday night they it all together and pounded the Knicks. Plus, Horford will make the trip, hoping to play.
The Pacers adjusted their starting lineup in Philly, swapping C.J. Miles in and Monta Ellis out. The move seemed to pick up Monta’s game, but against the Celtics matchups will be unique. Stevens doesn’t mind a small lineup without Crowder, using Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart which gives the C’s three guys who get after it regardless of their size.
Can the Pacers come close to matching the type of effort those guys deliver? If so, they will have to improve vastly compared to what we saw in Philly on Friday.
