If not tonight, then when?
Beating a team two times in three days is no easy task regardless of how many they have. In the case of the Pacers trying to sweep a home-and-home against the Sixers and also earn their first road win, the opponent remains without any wins. Philly is now the sole O-fer team in the NBA after New Orleans beat the Bucks on Thursday.
But the Pacers are O-fer on the road, so motivation, energy, effort — all internal and controllable factors which have failed the Pacers in prior road games — should be plentiful as the blue and gold try to get past that road barrier.
If not, questions will continue to rise like those discussed in the pod about the Pacers not performing up to expectations and needing to tweak the roster to overcome their flaws. Larry Bird always says he spends every day looking at ways to improve and if there is a move to make he will not hesitate.
But with the season just over two weeks old, is it too early to panic? Certainly, but the team will eventually have to deal with issues on the roster that were known prior to the season starting.
Here is the column by Bob Kravitz mentioned in the pod which implores Bird to start making moves to address the problems areas on the roster.
Also, we hear from the Dunc’d On podcast about whether it is too early for the Pacers to panic. Here’s a link to the full episode.
