After the Pacers made a strong preseason debut against the Pelicans we hit on the good and the bad in episode four of Locked on Pacers. Honestly, there wasn’t much ugly considering it was the first preseason game which was a nice initial take away for the Pacers.
A few key points from the show include how the new faces fared, most notably Jeff Teague, Thaddeus Young and Al Jefferson, as we get used to seeing them running in the blue and gold.
Also, how the young players showed up as they hunt for opportunities to carve out playing time. Joe Young handled himself well with the second unit while rookie Georges Niang had to adjust to the speed of the game.
But a few numbers were quite impressive and/or interesting. First, the team took 104 shots and only turned the ball over 11 times. Combine that with a 59-44 rebound advantage and you certainly have a winning formula...for preseason.
Yes, it was just preseason, but regardless it was a fun game to watch from a Pacers perspective. Nate McMillan surely had to enjoy what he saw.
