Pacers vs. Pelicans: Game thread, lineups and more

Real, live basketball of the preseason variety begins for the Pacers in New Orleans.

The Pacers begin preseason play in New Orleans when they face the Pelicans on Tuesday night.

The Pelicans opened play on Saturday, beating the Dallas Mavericks 116-102. Former Pacers forward, Solomon Hill had a steal, four assists and a rebound with no points in his 19-minute debut. Now he will surely enjoy the chance to chase around Paul George for at least a few minutes, just like old times in practice at the Fieldhouse.

The Pelicans also have E’Twaun Moore and Lance Stephenson on the roster. Moore signed a four-year deal with the Pels over the summer while Stephenson hopes to take advantage of some injury issues in the New Orleans backcourt to secure a spot on the roster out of camp.

Jrue Holiday is out tending to personal family matters as his wife is scheduled for surgery after giving birth to a baby. Tyreke Evans and Quincy Pondexter are both trying to return from injury but their absence creates an opportunity for Lance.

The Pacers will be without Myles Turner (concussion) and Aaron Brooks (hip).
