Pacers Podcast: Opening night update and expectations

The Pacers are ready to begin the regular season TONIGHT!

The season tips off at 7pm ET and the Pacers will offer the first impressions of the Nate McMillan Era. Hopefully, those impressions are more positive than the first impression the Warriors showed to begin the Kevin Durant Era in the Bay.

As we saw in Oakland and Cleveland (where the Cavs rolled past the Knicks) last night, the season isn't won or lost on opening night, but let's face it -- starting the season strong is a lot more fun.

For the Pacers, starting strong would mean notching a win over a Western Conference team in the Mavs, a veteran squad expected to be in the playoff mix, although at least a notch below the elite teams that started the season on Tuesday. As discussed in the podcast, we can expect the Mavs to come in prepared with a plan to win. Nate McMillan knows this and we will see how he has his team prepared to meet their first regular season challenge.
