The NBA regular season tips off tonight in Cleveland with the defending champion Cavaliers hosting the new-look New York Knicks. To the victor goes the spoils and the Cavs will get their rings and raise a banner before starting the 2016-17 season.
I wonder how many fans will run across the street to watch the Cubs and Indians in the World Series after seeing the banner hit the rafters. Should be a madhouse in downtown Cleveland tonight.
The limited opening night schedule includes two other games, with the Portland Trail Blazers hosting the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors hosting the San Antonio Spurs.
George Hill will make his debut for the Jazz matching up with Damian Lillard. The Jazz will be missing former Butler/Brownsburg star Gordon Hayward who is out after dislocating a finger.
The other TNT game at Oracle Arena will shine a spotlight on Kevin Durant's debut with the Dubs as they take on the Spurs sans Tim Duncan which will be all kinds of weird to watch. Here's the schedule, feel free to share your thoughts on the games and World Series action in the comments.
Knicks vs. Cavaliers - 7:30 p.m. ET - TNT
Jazz vs. Trail Blazers - 10 p.m. ET - local TV
Spurs vs. Warriors - 10:30 p.m. ET - TNT
