The Pacers were in preseason form during their 114-106 loss to the Magic on Friday. There were some positive takeaways and a few things that need attention with both the starting and reserve units.
For the starting unit that played pretty well much of the night, the end of the game was a great dress rehearsal since the game was up for grabs. The battle of execution and defensive fortitude went to the Magic.
Trust take time to develop and during their first game on the court together, those little things that make a team function at a high level just weren’t ready for prime time. Paul George admitted a day later, he’s still trying to get comfortable with when and where he may get shots and the fact he probably won’t get as many shots as the team pushes the pace.
Now we are nine days away from the regular season with one preseason game to go.
