The Indiana Pacers lost another game late, this time a shootout to the Denver Nuggets. The Pacers led by seven heading into the fourth and held a late fourth quarter lead, but a crucial three pointer by Randy Foye to put Denver up by three, a lead they'd hold as Indiana failed to force overtime. The Nuggets scored 45 fourth quarter points, torching the Indiana defense to get away with a win.
Indiana wasted breakout performances from their rookies Joe Young and Myles Turner, who had 40 points combined, including 25 from Turner, who was 11-13 shooting. Young had 15 on 7-11 from the floor with seven assists. Monta Ellis scored 24 points and Paul George had 19, but no one stood up to close the game when it mattered.
