Report: Luis Scola headed to Raptors

So long, Luis

Early morning reports indicate that Pacers forward Luis Scola has reached a 1 year/$3 million deal with the Toronto Raptors. Scola is coming off a season in which he averaged 9.4 points/game and 6.5 rebounds/game.  He was a key contributor to last year's team making an occasional start and was a pivotal bench presence for the team since his trade from the Phoenix Suns back in 2013.

The man affectionately known as "Lord Farquad" (if you don't get that reference I am truly sorry) leaves a large hole and a bigger question mark for the Pacers 4 spot. Though 35, Scola did not show any signs of slowing down from his usual style. I think where he will be missed the most is in his class. Pacers broadcaster Mark Boyle tweeted this morning "Congrats to @LScola4 on his new deal. Total class act and will be missed. NOTE: He never could beat me in Words with Friends".  Scola himself tweeted "We the north... Here I come   :)". I can honest say that this loss bites a little more than it should because he was such a likeable player.

Thia leaves many questions now for the Pacers including what to do with the 4 position. The front court has more questions than answers. The emergence of Myles Turner in the Summer League is a welcoming sign but with the departure of Scola the next available big man is Lavoy Allen.

Sound off in the comments below! What should the Pacers next move be? How will they fill the hole left by David West and now Luis Scola?
