Budinger is a six-year veteran out of Arizona, who averaged 6.8 points per game in 19 minutes last season for Minnesota, shooting 36% from three point range. Budinger as a small forward gives competition for Solomon Hill, who did not impress in his Orlando Summer League showing.
While Budinger is a decent three point shooter, the Pacers lose a surefire shooter in Rudez, who in the 2015 calendar year shot 44.6% from three point range. Rudez only averaged 4.8 last year for the Pacers, but made his biggest impact in leading Indiana to a January win over the Orlando Magic, scoring 16 fourth quarter points to snap a seven game losing streak. The Pacers have acquired small forward Chase Budinger from Minnesota in exchange for forward Damjan Rudez.
