For the record, the Pacers are the 8th place team jumping up from the bottom after beating the Magic Blue on Thursday, 91-85. Rookie Joe Young lit up the Magic for 28 points in the win while playing without fellow rookie Myles Tuner, as well as Solomon Hill and Shayne Whittington who have both left town. The offensive outburst was nice but naturally, coach Dan Burke was more impressed with Young's pressure on the defensive end.
"We looked like a team out there," said Pacers assistant coach Dan Burke. "Joe pressuring their point guards set the tone for how we wanted to play. We were the aggressors. And Arinze was a calming factor for us. He got the court spaced and made the game easier."
Turner should be available for the final game on Friday, giving us another glimpse of the rook's game to hold onto until training camp begins in early autumn. The Magic Blue held out Aaron Gordon, Elfrid Payton and Mario Hezonja yesterday, so they could also join the fray on Friday to make things more interesting.
