The NBA show must go on, so if you are already missing the action on the floor a night after the Warriors ended the season by finishing off the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Vegas has some action for you courtesy of the initial odds for winning the title next season.
Bovada release their odds on Wednesday and the Indiana Pacers were listed with 33-1 odds to win the title next season. That puts them in a tie for the top ten in the league and even up with the Miami Heat for the 4/5 slot in the East.
That sounds about right with the return of Paul George certainly giving the Pacers a boost while the team still has plenty of questions to answer about leaping back toward the top of the heap in the East. The Raptors and Wizards were two successful regular season teams last season to fall below the Pacers in a group of teams at 40-1.
Among the long shots in the big group of teams at 100-1 that may be worth taking a flyer on, I'd go with the Milwaukee Bucks who will still have plenty of youth, length and crazy athleticism, if they can just figure out a way to consistently put the ball in the bucket.
At the top of the food chain, appears Vegas expects LeBron James to get some help in Cleveland since they are the early favorites at 3-1 just ahead of the Dubs at 5-1.
