Paul George may not have been in uniform at the Barclays Center on Tuesday night, but he did take to the court for a special ceremony in which he honored Dr. Riley J. Williams, the USA Basketball physician that treated him after his gruesome injury, by presenting him with a Team USA jersey.
George captioned the above photo, "Thank you once again Dr. Williams! #MyHero"
Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center Senior Reporter Lenn Robbins reported that Dr. Williams was "humbled" by George's gesture of gratitude.
I visited with @rileywilliamsMD today & he said how humbled he was that @Yg_Trece was going to present him w a #USABasketball jersey #Nets

While there is still a cloud of uncertainty hovering over George's possible return to game action this season, fans may find a silver lining in a statement Dr. Williams made during a cameo appearance in the second installment of "The Road Back."
"He didn't ask me, 'When is the bone going to heal?'" reveals Williams. "He asked me, 'When am I going to be able to play again?'"
