The Indiana Pacers worked their way back into the win column tonight, grabbing a victory over the Miami Heat. The two teams were locked in a back-and-forth battle until the Pacers exploded with a 17-6 run to close the third quarter, helping them hold Miami at bay in the fourth quarter. The Pacers missed their first 11 threes, but stayed in the game by forcing turnovers, finishing with 14 steals.

Monta Ellis played well to lead Indiana with 24 points on 10-18 shooting, coming up with six assists and six steals. Paul George had 23, struggling from the floor, but getting to the line eight times in the first half to help Indiana stay afloat. Indiana was helped tremendously by a big game from Ian Mahinmi, who had an 18 point, 12 rebound double double on 7-9 shooting (and 4-4 from the free throw line).

The Pacers take on the Detroit Pistons tomorrow night in the second half of a back-to-back.
