The Pacers tip off preseason play at the Fieldhouse on Saturday night when they host the New Orleans Pelicans. Fank Vogel expects to play all of his healthy players at least a little, although anyone with a hint of injury may not see any minutes.

That group could include Monta Ellis, Myles Turner and Rakeem Christmas which would be disappointing although prudent in Turner's case. High expectations for Turner have to be tempered a bit. Young big men don't have a good track record of avoiding injury in the NBA due to the man-sized workload thrown at a still-developing, young body that just happens to be huge. I'm hopeful, the Pacers always consider Turner's health in the infant stages of his NBA career.

While Paul George won't always play the four during the season, Vogel expects him to play it almost exclusively in the early portion of the preseason as they try to install a new system with new parts. Oh, hi, Anthony Davis. No turning back now.

As for the Pelicans, Jrue Holiday is a little dinged up so Tyreke Evans will likely start at the point alongside Hossier hoops legend, Eric Gordon. The young Pels have a compelling core of talent developing around Anthony Davis for new coach Alvin Gentry.

The game will be televised on on NBA League Pass only with the radio call on the normal Pacers outlets including the home base 107.5FM/1070AM The Fan.
