Pacers vs. Cavaliers: Preseason game thread, TV info, lineups and more

New, comments

The Pacers take on the Cavaliers in a game that will be broadcast both locally and nationally.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night for a preseason matchup against the consensus favorites to win the Eastern Conference this season.

Health certainly favors the Pacers who appear to have the bulk of their regular season rotation ready to play with just Solomon Hill and Joe Young listed as questionable. After the starters played minimal minutes against Detroit on Tuesday, they should be ready for an extended look against LeBron James and the Cavs.

LeBron won't have much help though as the Cavs continue waiting for more firepower to hit the floor. Kyrie Irving (knee), Kevin Love (shoulder), Iman Shumpert (wrist) remain on the mend while Tristan Thompson remains outside the building looking for a new contract. The result has been a rough preseason and 0-4 record for the Cavs. But after looking at the injury list combined with the available roster, it is easy to see the depth improvement Cleveland should enjoy if they can keep everyone healthy and ready to play.

Vogel may turn to a bigger lineup to start this game with both Timofey Mozgov and Anderson Varejao starting alongside LBJ in the front court. Could serve as a good dress rehearsal for Memphis and the home opener in a couple of weeks.
