The Indiana Pacers fell into another early hole with a slow first quarter start in Game 5 against the Washington Wizards, but used a strong open to the second quarter to take a 32-28 lead. But the Wizards turned it on, going on a 17-3 run with David West hitting a corner three to close the half, mercifully drawing the Pacers within seven at the break.
The Wizards have control of the game in every aspect except the score, outrebounding the Pacers 32-11. Marcin Gortat has 11 rebounds on his own, six on the offensive glass, shooting 7-8 from the floor for 17 points. He leads three Wizards in double figures, Washington winning both quarters to take the 45-38 lead. West has 10 points to lead Indiana, but they're shooting just 36.9%. The Pacers are somehow winning the turnover battle 12-7, but are getting outscored 14-10 in points off turnovers, allowing 13 fast break points.
