The Pacers took the fight to the Chicago Bulls on Friday night and the results were spectacular. When the two teams meet again on Monday night in enemy territory, the Pacers will have to bring at least that much fight again despite their recent struggles to do so on the road.
Physical play is a given in this matchup and a chunk of the outcome is determined by how the game is officiated. No one was happy with the apparent random calls picked out of all of the banging that went on Friday. Taj Gibson voiced his frustration, accusing the Pacers of flopping him out of the game after he fouled out after just 22 minutes off the bench. Of course, George Hill was called for three fouls on ONE possession with Joakim Noah clutching and shoving Hill on two of the three.
Pacers vs. Bulls, you gotta love it. They are not friendly rivals and everyone is looking for an edge at all times. A win in Chicago would be a fantastic way for the Pacers to clinch their second consecutive Central Division title. Should be a fun one.
I talked about this along with the up and down play of the Pacers on The Phil Naessens Show. Check it out.
