With the Big Ten Tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the Pacers will spend the weekend on the road. Fortunately, the schedule broke in the Pacers' favor with both the Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons breaking down as the season heads towards the home stretch.
The Pacers begin a busy stretch of the season to close out March on Friday when they visit the Sixers. The game presents a great opportunity for the Pacers to sharpen their execution while also keeping their legs fresh for the next few days when they play three games in four days.
Candace Buckner reports from the Ill that C.J. Watson and Ian Mahinmi will both be available for the Pacers tonight, although it appears Mahinmi is only going to see action in an emergency with the intent to give him the night off and the give the back up big minutes to Lavoy Allen. Please let there be no emergencies in Philly.
As for the Sixers, they are trending in a historically bad direction, heading to tip time on an 18-game losing streak. A look ahead at their schedule reveals a real chance to surpass the NBA record for consecutive futility of 26 straight losses set by the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers.
Of course, with the way things have gone for the Pacers of late on the road, just pushing the Sixers to their 19th loss is all that matter.
