The Indiana Pacers finally returned to the win column as they closed out strong to put away the Boston Celtics. The Pacers led by as many as 15 in the third quarter, but allowed Boston to climb back to within a point, thanks in large part to 20 offensive rebounds by the Celtics. But with a one possession game halfway through the fourth quarter, Indiana put together a pair of strong defensive possessions that allowed them to jump up seven, en route to the 11-point victory.
David West led the way with 24 points on 11-13 shooting. Andrew Bynum was a huge positive in his Pacers debut, scoring eight points and grabbing 10 rebounds, as the bench as a whole scored 31 points two nights after scoring just four. The Pacers shot 54.8% on the night and held to just 35% in the game. Indiana lost the turnover battle 16-10, but allowed just 10 points to Boston, while scoring 13.
