The Indiana Pacers remain strong to the core but will trot out a decidedly different look for the first time on Tuesday night when the Los Angeles Lakers make their annual visit to the Fieldhouse.
Gone is the familiar face of Danny Granger and in his place coming off the bench will be Evan Turner with the hopes the team's new acquisition will slide in next to Lance Stephenson and make the reserve unit a handful with the duo's ability to handle the ball and attack from different angles. Turner has always played as a top dog with varying levels of success so it will be interesting to see how he can adjust to a more limited role. He certainly has plenty of talent to match up well against any other sixth or seventh man in the league. But playing within that role isn't for everybody.
As for the Lakers, they really don't look like the lethal teams we've seen roll into Indy led by Kobe Bryant. Bryant remains sidelined and the recently revamped starting lineup includes Pau Gasol and WHO? Despite the lack of star power, the Lakers will try to run and gun so this should be a great opportunity for the Pacers to raise their level of transition defense which has been problematic of late.
