The Pacers were obviously sad to see Danny Granger go at the trade deadline, as Larry Bird went to the whip like a Kentucky Derby jockey trying to guide his talented thoroughbred of a team down the home stretch to the ultimate goal.
The team has had an emotional few weeks, having to come to grips with the fact that the tight unit they thought was good to go for a title run, just wasn't getting it done and required tweaking. So now, what's done is done and the Pacers have to move past the emotions of change and focus on the only remaining drama -- how they finish the season on the court.
Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen won't be available for the Pacers when they return to the court against the Bucks on Saturday night. Fortunately, the calendar fell in the Pacers' favor around the trade deadline. They had an extra day to deal with the sudden change and then take the court against the worst team in the league tonight to release some of that pent up angst.
