The Indiana Pacers look for their first win in nine tries when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night. The Pacers have moved a couple of notches past desperation in their quest for a win.
Adding to the urgency to end the losing streak is the fact the Pacers will leave town for the rest of the week for a three-game trip against more Western Conference foes starting on Wednesday against the Clippers.
The Lakers went through similar circumstances earlier in the season but are suddenly feeling pretty good after winning their last three games. That taste of success combined with an emotional win in Minnesota on Sunday night, which included Kobe Bryant surpassing Michael Jordan on the career scoring list, could have the Lakers set up for an emotional let down in Indy.
Speaking of emotion, it would be nice to see the Pacers flash a little in their effort to add one to the win column.
