Despite leading after the first quarter, the Indiana Pacers were blitzed in the second quarter by the Portland Trail Blazers, who took a one point deficit and made it a 20 point halftime lead. The Blazers moved up 29 in the third quarter, but the Pacers fought back, drawing the game to within as few as eight, but offensive struggles and big shots by Portland forced Indiana into their eighth straight loss.
C.J. Watson led the Pacers with 23, who once again shot under 40%. The Pacers limited transition points and turnovers, but still allowed 44 points in the paint and were on the wrong side of a 36-15 second quarter that ultimately decided the game. Rodney Stuckey had 14 and David West had 12. Portland was led by LaMarcus Aldridge, who had 19.
