The Indiana Pacers try to push their winning streak to a streak-worthy total of three games when they host the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.
The Nuggets are struggling under former Pacers second-in-command, Brian Shaw arriving at the The Fieldhouse on a six-game losing streak after winning their first game. In the opener the Nuggs held Detroit to 79 points but have since failed to hold a team under 100 points. In fact, in five of the six losses opponents have scored at least 110 points.
Holding the injury-laden Pacers under 110 shouldn't be a problem for Denver, but the way Indiana has responded defensively to start the season, they shouldn't need that many points to win. After an impressive effort on the road to beat the Miami Heat, the biggest concern may be a slight exhale. But there are few players in the current rotation who can afford to exhale at any point in their NBA career, so motivation shouldn't be a problem for the Pacers.
