The Indiana Pacers tip off the 2014-15 season at Bankers Life Fieldhouse when they host the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Pacers begin the season dealing with major injury woes which will put their depth to an immediate test with Donald Sloan starting at point guard with no actual back up point guard healthy enough to offer much relief. Rodney Stuckey will try to go on his foot strain but will be limited to action off the bench.
As for the Sixers, their decimated lineup appears to be by design as they trot out Nerlens Noel for his first NBA regular season action in what will be considered his rookie season after an ACL injury forced him to miss all of last season. Michael Carter-Williams is the future for the Sixers backcourt but is on the shelf with a shoulder injury which leaves 'Lance-light' Tony Wroten running the point. From there, the Sixers depth takes a deep dive.
Roy Hibbert should feel comfortable going against former Georgetown big man Henry Sims. Needless to say, the Big Dawg needs to make a big impact for the Pacers to win.
