The Pacers are working through preseason camp and working in new faces to the lineup. So far, the easiest fit appears to be Rodney Stuckey sliding into the shooting guard position vacated by Lance Stephenson.
While Stuckey isn't nearly as dynamic as Stephenson, they do share a stout build and similar style of play. As Candace Buckner reports, Frank Vogel is taking advantage of those similarities by having Stuckey run plays he used to call for Lance.
"Absolutely. We talked about that direct comparison," Vogel said, "not that he's going to try to come in and be Lance Stephenson, he's going to be Rodney Stuckey. But a lot of sets will be similar and possibly how the rotation looks, it could be similar as well."
Of course, no matter how successful Stuckey is at executing those plays run for him, don't expect a similar reaction when he scores.
Also of note in the links, C.J. Miles has been working mostly with the starting unit when he has been participating in the first part of practice. A calf strain has limited Miles' but those limitations are precautionary at this point.
