Pacers Links: Pacers deliver entertaining W to start road trip

The Pacers and Warriors trade big plays throughout the game in a big-time atmosphere which forced the Pacers to remain tough down the stretch, which they did to hold onto the win.

The Pacers starters shared the load throughout the team's win over the Warriors on Monday night. Paul George jump- started the offense with 14 first quarter points while Roy Hibbert set the tone defensively.

David West picked his spots and then when the Pacers needed big buckets late, Lance Stephenson drilled a classic "NO-NO-NO...YES!" three-pointer late in the game, followed by a three-pointer from George Hill late in the shot clock which essentially killed Golden State's will.

Hill used his length to force an off-balance three by Stephen Curry as the Dubs' sharp-shooter tried to reply. The Pacers didn't flinch amid the chaos at Oracle Arena with the quick-strike Warriors continually riding the home energy to keep things tight.

For the first time in a few games, the Pacers bench wasn't effective when needed in the second half. Danny Granger and Luis Scola in particular struggled to get their shots. But the starters were ready to carry the weight to let the Pacers leave with an impressive win to begin their five-game road trip.

Winning that first game sets things up for a special road trip with Phoenix next, followed by back-to-back games at Sacramento and Denver. That Saturday night, second game of a back-to-back in the mile high air will be problematic and why I still think a 4-1 trip would be outstanding.

But 5-0 is still in play, thanks to the big effort down the stretch to close out the win at Golden State.
