The Indiana Pacers jump into the TNT spotlight on Thursday night when they host the New York Knicks at a sold out Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
For the Pacers, this game presents a chance to take a four-game lead over the Miami Heat in the race for the top spot in the East. Miami lost its third consecutive game on Wednesday to provide a little cushion at the top for the Pacers. This is certainly no time to exhale, but rather a chance to continue going for the kill.
The Knicks have provided plenty of comedic fodder through their foibles at times this season but of late, appear to be gathering a bit of momentum to make a run at securing a playoff spot in the East. At this point, a slow jog could still put NYK in playoff position but regardless they are moving in the right direction.
Combustible (in a variety of ways) reserve shooting guard, J.R. Smith has been a distraction lately for what has become his normal behavior which pushed Mike Woodson to sit Smith. But it is no surprise that Woodson will take a chance on ol' J.R. making a triumphant return tonight against the Pacers.
