All indications have pointed toward this day for several weeks, but finally today at 11:00 a.m. ET the Indiana Pacers will officially announce the contract extension for All-Star forward Paul George. At 23, PG will reportedly sign a 5-year max deal which will kick in next season paying him 25%-30% of the salary cap which is not yet set.
It's a lot, though.
So tune in at 11:00 a.m. on Pacers.com for a live stream of the announcement as excitement around the Pacers continues to build for the start of training camp on Saturday.
Among the links today is a nice piece by Mark Montieth which ponders whose team the Pacers are now with PG signing a max deal, following Roy Hibbert's big deal last year and the re-signing of David West. No one is claiming ownership, sticking with the team mantra, although if forced to, Hibbert gives the nod to West. Good choice.
