Pacers Links: Preseason schedule, Popeye Jones officially announced

The Pacers have two home games sandwiched around a trip Asia as part of their preseason schedule this year.

The Indiana Pacers took care of some official business on Wednesday when they release their full preseason schedule and also confirmed reports, including one from Roy Hibbert, that assistant coach Popeye Jones was indeed at work in the 'House.

The bulk of the Pacers preseason schedule was already known, but the addition of a home and road game against the Dallas Mavericks completes the eight game slate.

Here is the full preseason schedule which begins in LESS THAN TWO MONTHS!!!

- Saturday, Oct. 5 vs. Chicago (BLF)

- Thursday, Oct. 10 vs. Rockets (Manila, Philipines)

- Sunday, Oct. 13 vs. Rockets (Taipei, Taiwan)

- Wednesday, Oct. 16 vs. Dallas (BLF)

- Friday, Oct. 18 at Bulls (United Center)

- Saturday, Oct. 19 at Cavaliers (Quicken Loans Arena)

- Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Hawks (Philips Arena)

- Friday, Oct. 25 at Mavericks (American Airlines Center)

Plenty of other interesting offseason links to check out including some good work from the Pacers in the community. Also, a panel of ESPN hoops writers and broadcasters combined to project the standings for the teams in the East next year. They slotted the Pacers in the familiar third position behind Miami and Chicago, although they had the Pacers winning just one game fewer than the Bulls. Still, I ain't buyin' it. I'm starting to think Derrick Rose's talent is reaching mythic  proportions in the eyes of some thanks to his prolonged absence. What do you think? Hopefully Rose shows up ready to go for that first preseason game on October 5th.
