This matchup of point guards is an intriguing one, due to the current mystery of who will backup George Hill next season. Dennis Schroeder, the point guard prospect from Germany, is also one of the more talked about prospects by Pacers fans leading up to the draft. Adding in Schroeder's opponent, Ray McCallum, we have a nice matchup brewing here. Both of these prospects could be significant upgrades over D.J. Augustin next season.
Below is the video breakdown of Schroeder from SB Nation partner, Draft Express. Also, Draft Express has not released a video breakdown of McCallum, but they did interview him at the NBA Scouting Combine in Chicago (will be shown below). SB Nation has their own database of prospects and has a written scouting report from their resident NBA draft guru, Jonathan Tjarks here. Enjoy both the breakdowns and interviews on both prospects. One of these players could be an Indiana Pacer come draft night.
Schroeder or McCallum would fit right into the Pacers backcourt rotation next season. Dennis would give them a Rajon Rondo-like guard that Indiana has been desperately in need of for a long time, while Ray would give them a boost off the bench with massive scoring potential. If the Pacers are looking for a better and younger upgrade over Augustin, they can not go wrong with selecting Schroeder or McCallum to lead the second unit. Which one of these point guards would you want to see on Indiana's roster next season?
After the video analysis (Schroeder) and interview (McCallum) from Draft Express, as well as the written scouting report on McCallum from SB Nation, who should advance on to the second round? Will it be Dennis Schroeder or Ray McCallum receiving your vote to move on in the Indy Cornrows 23rd Pick Tournament?
