The Indiana Pacers lived up to their seeding in the first round of the NBA playoffs and advanced to the second round where they will take the underdog role without home court advantage against the No. 2 seed New York Knicks.
Former Broad Ripple Rocket, and current Knicks coach Mike Woodson will try to devise a defensive game plan to slow down another Broad Ripple Rocket, Pacers point guard George Hill as he leads the Pacers offense. Of course, the more high profile matchup between these two teams is the Pacers defense trying to slow down the Knicks offense. Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith can nuke it up in a hurry from all over the court. Making the pair uncomfortable as possible will be the Pacers challenge, no easy task at MSG.
Another key is Roy Hibbert remaining on the floor and avoiding foul trouble against active, wily playoff veteran, Tyson Chandler. But more importantly, the Pacers as a team have to raise their game a few notches from where they were in the first round. Not only is the second round a beast, but their playing in New York on ABC Sunday afternoon. You want exposure and national pub? You got it. Now they have to take advantage of the situation.
