The Indiana Pacers led a majority of the way, but things got a little dicey in the fourth quarter when LeBron James helped his Miami Heat into the lead, pushing the lead to two with under four minutes to go. As the Heat appeared equipped to run away, the Pacers showed their growth, out-clutching the champions on an 8-2 run, forcing two James turnovers as the game wound down, George Hill overcame earlier free throw struggles to ice it on four straight trips to the line.

The game was shaping up to be the James vs. Paul George show with the two stars trading blows against each other. James was out of this world, scoring 36 points on 14-20 shooting, as George followed up with 22 points on 9-16 shooting. Roy Hibbert was the one constant all night for the Pacers, scoring a career high 29 points with 10 rebounds. All five Pacers starters reached double figures, Hill 18, West 13, and Stephenson 10.
