Pacers vs. Hawks Links: Game 5 puts Pacers season on the line

New, comments

The Pacers won't have any room for error if they can't hold their home court in Game 5.

Kevin C. Cox

A Game 5 win isn't do-or-die for the Indiana Pacers, but should they lose their season will be on life support heading back to Atlanta down 3-2. The Pacers should be now problem getting in the right frame of mind for 48 minutes at the Fieldhouse on Friday night.

As Frank Vogel mentioned after practice on Tuesday, the Pacers have to play with a sense of urgency to win every possession, not just a handful here and there. Also, the Pacers have to throw some different looks at Josh Smith. It was all good when Smith was in foul trouble and seemed disinterested in battling through it in Indy. But he found his groove in Atlanta and seems fully engaged. He's also as tough a cover as Paul George can face in the league when his mind is right. Gonna need some help.

The Pacers should enjoy a return to the Fieldhouse which should be plenty loud tonight.
