Another half, another lack of the identity the Indiana Pacers have built up over the course of the entire season, allowing 53 points to the Cleveland Cavaliers and trailing by five heading into the locker room. The Pacers appeared to be in control when they jumped out to an early 20-8 lead, but the Cavs stormed back, reclaiming the lead and leading through until halftime.
The Cavs used 51% shooting to lead the Pacers, scoring 20 in the paint, and totaling nine offensive rebounds. Kyrie Irving, despite recent struggles, hit six of his first eight shots in the first quarter for 14 points, but was limited in the second quarter due to foul trouble. The Pacers have been able to stay in the game due to their big free throw advantage at 15-2, totaling seven steals. George Hill with 11 and David West with 10 lead the Pacers. The good news? Indiana trailed against Cleveland at the half in the first two meetings of the season.
