The Indiana Pacers return to work on Tuesday when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers. After losing their last two games in less than stellar fashion, the blue and gold should be plenty motivated to tip off with the Cavs.
The Pacers clinched the Central Division on Sunday when the Detroit Pistons beat the Chicago Bulls, but as you'll see in the links, Frank Vogel hasn't given up on earning the No. 2 seed and the potential home court advantage for two rounds in the playoffs.
Only problem with that plan at this point is that the Pacers need some big help including the New York Knicks, winners of 12 in a row, suddenly missing shots at a rate they've been making them of late. I still think the Pacers would be better off giving up the extra home game in round two for a better first round matchup with Atlanta. But if the Pacers find their playoff mojo a little early then it won't really matter.
None of that future speculation means anything without taking care of the here and now which on Tuesday involved beating the Cavs.
