Pacers Links: Pacers set to host Thunder, Danny Granger has surgery on knee

The Pacers are back in action at home after a few days off following their 4-0 road trip. Things don't get any easier with Kevin Durant and the OKC Thunder at the Fieldhouse.

As the Indiana Pacers practiced in preparation to slow down Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder, forward Danny Granger was down in Florida having surgery on his left knee with the hope to be ready for training camp in October.

Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery aimed at helping relieve Granger of the tendinosis pain which finally forced him to shut down his effort to get back on the court this season. So we can now push off questions about Granger's future for a few more months. One thing is for sure, no matter what words are uttered about his status and progress toward returning to the court, only the physical proof of seeing Granger on the court and playing will serve as a legit answer to whether he can still play.

Also, while the Pacers enjoyed another night off last night, the Thunder were battling the San Antonio Spurs in OKC. Since the game finished after midnight Indy time, the Thunder probably rolled in to town around 3 AM today. The Thunder won the game to draw within a half game of the Spurs for the top spot in the West, so a win against the Pacers tonight would put OKC in first place since they hold the tie breaker advantage.
